2026 Wednesday Beginner Information
The program will meet on Wednesdays for 8 weeks beginning on June 3rd and running through July 22nd. Veenker will offer two different session times on Wednesdays. Session one runs from 8:00AM-9:30AM and session two runs from 9:30AM-11AM. Each session will have a maximum of 20 students. For the first four weeks kids will learn golf etiquette, driving, chipping, and putting skills to get them ready for the golf course. The last four weeks the kids will play 5 holes on the golf course trying to shoot under par from 25 yards out (par stays the same for the hole). If kids complete the task they will move back to 50 yards out and then try to shoot under par and so on. The philosophy is to grow from green to tee box. Participants will receive instruction on the golf course as well.
These sessions are designed for beginner boys and girls ages 7 – 13 who are interested in learning and enjoying the game of golf. Children must be 7 years old by at least July1st.
The price of the program is $300.00 this year. All Veenker Jr Golfers will receive a tee gift.
Due to schedule constraints and staffing we will not make up any cancelled sessions. Veenker will do everything possible to complete all 8 sessions. Thank you.
PGA Junior League
PGA Junior League Golf (PGA JLG) is a nationwide program now offered on Thursday for advanced players. PGA JLG is designed to better socialize the game of golf for your 13U golfers. The PGA JLG program features a team-vs-team format in a structured league using a popular, low-stress, scramble format.
PGA JLG is an inclusive program that encourages all skill levels. We suggest that players achieve a minimum basic level of competence in at least one discipline; driving, chipping, or putting, before joining a team. The scramble format provides a comfort zone for the developing player. For the accomplished Junior who may already be competing in individual tournaments, PGA JLG offers the opportunity to develop leadership skills in a team setting and most importantly, play on a team with friends. PGA JLG is a great way to get the entire family involved in golf, with parents as spectators, team-parents, and even coaches. Similar to other youth recreational sports, PGA JLG encourage and relies on parental involvement. In addition to making sure participants get to matches and practices, parents can play an important role in the success of their team as team captain/assistant, coach, team parent, match monitor/scorer or player recruitment.
